We are a dedicated domestic and international construction & engineering disputes team
Our specialist construction team represent clients engaged across a diverse range of domestic and international engineering projects.
We cover multiple sectors – energy, education, development, heritage, oil & gas, health care and infrastructure
We have substantial experience of adjudication, High Court and Supreme Court litigation and international arbitration. We are particularly adept at disputes involving issues of delay, payment and final accounts, termination and technical problems.
Our clients include PFI funds, main contractors, specialist contractors, material suppliers, developers and cultural institutions. We advise clients on commercial and legal issues arising during project delivery and then, where unavoidable, represent clients in all forms of dispute resolution.
In our role as lawyers, we see it as our primary function when looking at construction projects to identify risk, ensure that risk is understood by all the parties, and in particular the person taking on the risk, and to ensure that person is able to properly manage the risk. It is also important that the person is properly rewarded for taking on the risk so that's how we like to approach the pulling together of construction documentation and various contractual relationships. – David Weare
