We are a specialist insurance coverage team representing mainly policyholders and their captives in insurance disputes across numerous sectors including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, energy, financial services, retail, construction, utilities and transport.
We are adept at successfully recovering insurance indemnities under all lines including construction all-risks, professional indemnity, property, business interruption, D&O, employers’ liability, public liability, political / credit risk, corporate crime (1st and 3rd party), product liability / recall, Bermuda Form and cyber / privacy insurance policies.
The team also advises on insurance programmes and renewals, on the drafting and interpretation of policies, including Warranty & Indemnity cover for M&A deals, and on properly notifying and presenting claims to insurers.
We also specialise in reinsurance coverage disputes and our lawyers have acted in leading cases Wasa v Lexington (concerning US pollution losses) and Aioi v Heraldglen (arising from the 9/11 World Trade Centre losses) and currently represents a captive reinsurer in a $500 million LCIA political risk coverage arbitration.
