Helping To Create Transformative Change

Built by founders for founders, our client Atomico is not your traditional venture capital firm. They’re helping visionary founders become global leaders.

In its mission to create transformative change, Atomico needs a team that can deliver.

We advised Atomico on leading an $11m Series A investment in Digitail, an all-in-one platform helping vets go digital. Led by partner Howard Watt, supported by Ellie Green and Alex Haffner, our VC team worked closely with Atomico, who joined existing investors byFounders, Gradient and Partech, in supporting the growth of Digitail.

At a time when pet ownership reached an all-time global high, demand for petcare soared, making Digitail’s proposition a very welcome one for veterinarians. The platform had already been adopted by 750+ clinics across 16 countries, including 200+ in the US. This move marked Atomico’s first investment in Romania, helping to further grow its presence and involvement in the fast-growing European tech scene.

This wasn’t our first time working with Atomico. Howard has worked closely with Kasit and his team, supported by Ellie Green, on several exciting transactions, from a $16m Series A investment in UK-based, global SaaS employee benefits platform Ben, to a €10m seed fundraising round (investing €8.5m) into Pocket Solutions AB, a company which develops software in connection with digital legal services, and more.

It’s always great to see your client achieve new wins. It’s been an incredible journey so far and we can’t wait to see where Atomico go next.

Kasit Rochanakorn, General Counsel at Atomico said: “As always, Howard and the Fladgate team were crucial in helping us to quickly and effectively get this competitive deal over the line. Fladgate continues to be an important partner and advisor to Atomico as we look to find, invest in and support the best and most visionary founders in Europe. We have worked with Howard for over seven years now and deal after deal he continues to impress.”

Howard added: "It was brilliant advising Atomico on their investment into this innovative solution for vets across the world. Founded by Sebastian Gabor and Ruxandra Pui, Digitail has already seen a lot of success since its launch in 2018, creating more time for professionals to concentrate on delivering vital petcare. Since the pandemic, pet ownership has exploded and so has the demand for services. No doubt the need for automation of repetitive admin tasks will not subside anytime soon. Congratulations to Atomico and Digitail, and we look forward to seeing how the company will adapt and innovate to match this growing demand.”

The Fladgate team advising Atomico on these transactions included: Howard Watt, Ellie Green, Alex Haffner, Matthew Akehurst, Daniel King, Caroline Philipps and Ingrid Hesselbo.
