Advice on private wealth disputes from lawyers who understand the sector
Our Private Wealth Disputes practice combines the firm’s Private Wealth and Dispute Resolution offerings. With a firm-wide history of representing clients in the private wealth sector, we have a deep understanding of the industry and dealing with any disputes which may arise. This history allows us to put private clients first and our lawyers act at trusted advisers to our clients focusing on pre-empting, avoiding and resolving disputes where possible.
We have extensive expertise in all areas of Private Wealth Disputes, including high value and complex onshore and offshore trust disputes, disputed wills, estates and succession matters, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, Court of Protection actions and tax tribunal appeals. We also work on disputes involving breach of fiduciary duty and fraud, minority shareholder actions and partnership claims with our Dispute Resolution colleagues.
We act for private individuals in the UK and internationally, family offices, trustees (both individuals and trust companies) and other fiduciaries, such as executors, protectors, attorneys and deputies, as well as charities and businesses. The firm has a longstanding history of acting for entrepreneurs and their related structures and businesses, providing a bespoke service for every step along the journey of being an entrepreneur, including where they find themselves in a dispute.
Our unlimited partnership approach means we work closely with our Private Wealth and Family colleagues to provide a seamless full service for our clients, ensuring matters such as tax, structuring and family law are integrated into the strategy.
Our Private Wealth Disputes team, won the STEP Private Clients Award for Contentious Trusts and Estates Team of the Year (midsize firm) in September 2024.
